Creating a Web Design For Your Business
Part 1
1. Define Your Site
Think about the kind of web design you want to have. Look at the
website designs of other people who have a business similar to yours.
- Decide on the style and general color scheme you want in your web design.
- Decide how many pages your site will have. Define each page.
- Prepare all of the text as a Microsoft Word document, or use a plain text editor. You will later send us this document as an email attachment.
- People expect to see pictures when they view web pages. Take the
pictures now. Read our Tips on Taking Pictures. If you
can not take suitable pictures, we can provide stock photography.
2. Contact Us
Contact us for a
preliminary discussion of the project. If we mutually agree that your expectations and our
services are a good match, we can get started.
3. Agreement
We now send you an agreement. You return the signed agreement to us along with the text and pictures you want used on your website.
3. Initial Payment
An initial payment of $299 is now required as
explained on our
Pricing page.
$150 of this
initial payment is a non refundable set-up fee. To make this payment, you may go to our payment page and
pay using a credit
card.
4. Choose a Domain Name
Your small business website will be known by its domain name,
which is of the form something.com. As a general rule, you should select a name ending in .com.
Read this article to learn about
domain name
extensions or top-level domains.
5. Check Availability of the Domain Name
After you decide on a domain name, see if it is
available.
Go to this page and check
availability. Domain name registration is free if you use our services and choose a domain name ending in
.com, .net, .org, .info, or .biz.
